How to Prepare for MBA Interviews

In the last few weeks Wharton Business School, London Business School and other top MBA programs have sent out interviews invitations to their second round applicants.

There are many online resources to help you prepare for the MBA interviews: wiki pages, Businessweek forums, chats with admissions officers and more. But before you find yourself overwhelmed by the 100+ questions that are available online, take a deep breath and start with the basics. The next MBA interview-preparation steps will help you cover the most common questions and gain confidence in your ability to present yourself.  So let's get started!

MBA Interview Preparation
1. Read your essays, and think about your motivation, values, decision making process and actions.
2. Review each bullet point in your resume and be prepared to expand on it, as well as answer the common "walk me through your resume" question.
3. Identify the critical decisions, accomplishments, and team experiences in your life.
4. Prepare an elevator pitch of two minutes, 60-second and 30-second.
5. Revisit your research on the school and identify classes, professors and activities that are specific to your profile
6. Review "Why MBA, Why Now, Why Columbia/Wharton/NYU".
7. Prepare questions that are relevant to your ambitions and your expectations from the MBA.
